Our Products

Liquefied Natural
Gas (LNG)

NLNG has 20 long-term LNG Sale & Purchase Agreements (SPAs) with 9 buyers, executed on a Delivered Ex-Ship (DES) basis. In addition, the company has over 51 Spot LNG Master Sale Agreements (MSAs) with various international markets, facilitating the sale of base and excess production volumes.

Deliveries are made to Europe, the Far East, the Greater Middle East, North and South America, affirming NLNG’s position as a leading global LNG supplier. Market opportunities are optimized through commercial diversions, spot Free on Board (FOB) sales, and collaborative activities with long-term buyers.

With SPAs from Trains 1-3 nearing expiry between 2021 and 2024, NLNG has successfully re-sold volumes from these foundation projects under new agreements, ensuring the company remains competitive while adapting to evolving market conditions.

Looking ahead, NLNG is pursuing the ambitious Train 7 project, which will increase production capacity to 30 mtpa.

Natural Gas Liquids
(NGLs)

NLNG produces high-quality NGLs, comprising Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) (Propane and Butane) and Condensates. With a production capacity of 5 mtpa, these by-products of gas
liquefaction are exported on a Free on Board (FOB) basis to pre-qualified buyers, including NLNG shareholders. Additionally, Butane is sold domestically under the company’s Domestic Energy Initiative to promote clean energy.

Domestic
LPG Supply

For over a decade, NLNG has played a key role in supplying Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), commonly known as cooking gas, to the Nigerian domestic market. Through the NLNG Domestic LPG (DLPG) Scheme, the company has helped reduce the use of harmful fuel sources, stimulated industry growth, and ensured the availability and affordability of LPG.

Between 2007 and 2018, NLNG supplied over 1,452kt of LPG to the domestic market, significantly increasing annual domestic consumption from less than 50kt in 2007 to over 600kt in 2018.

NLNG ensures steady product supply through its dedicated vessel chartered for the DLPG Scheme, with deliveries now extended to the Stockgap Terminal in Port Harcourt to ease congestion at Lagos ports.

In alignment with its vision of “helping to build a better Nigeria,” NLNG has committed to delivering 100% of its LPG production to the domestic market through Nigerian companies under Sales and Purchase Agreements (SPAs).

The Future

NLNG’s commercial strategy focuses on maintaining a competitive edge while driving value and business growth. This is achieved through strategic portfolio management mechanisms, such as cargo diversions, swaps, and SPA reviews to enhance value.

Looking forward, NLNG is set to solidify its position as a major global LNG supplier, characterized by flexibility and value-driven operations. In parallel, the company remains committed to supporting Nigeria’s domestic energy needs, exploring opportunities for domestic LNG supply to bridge the energy gap, particularly in the power sector.

With the Final Investment Decision (FID) for Train 7 complete and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts awarded, NLNG is poised to undertake its next phase of growth. The coming years will be pivotal as the company works to safely deliver this world-class expansion amidst a rapidly evolving global energy landscape.
